Boise River & Greenbelt:

South of Highway 44 is the site of south Eagle. An area highlight is the extensive number of established neighborhoods located along the Boise River. Correspondingly, many of these luxurious domiciles are located within walking distance of the Greenbelt. The Greenbelt is an extensive trail system which extends over 25 miles alongside the Boise River. It starts in southeast Boise and runs all the way west to Star. Without a doubt, it is a great place to walk or ride a bike while enjoying the scenic pathway of the river.

Neighborhoods:

Various neighborhoods started the trend of enjoying “river life”. Neighborhoods such as Banbury, Banbury Meadows, Island Woods, and Two Rivers set a high standard for future growth. Nevertheless, later additions such as Lakemoor, Laguna Pointe, Mace River Ranch, Williamson River Ranch, Creighton Woods, and The Shores have measured up. Golf & Tennis:

South Eagle is also home to the award-winning Banbury Golf course. This 18-hole public venue has been ranked in the top ten of Idaho golf courses by Golf Digest. Its course runs along the Boise River and features a country club and restaurant. The Eagle Tennis Club is also a destination for many residents.

Parks & Recreation:

Just off Highway 44 in Eagle is Eagle Island State Park. This 545-acre park is on the Boise River and features a swimming beach. Eagle Island has a grassy picnic area and more than five miles of trails for horseback riding, hiking and dog walking. Subsequently, there is a waterslide, zipline and 19-hole disc golf course. A snow tubing hill can be found in the winter months.

Also in south Eagle is Reid Merrill Park on Shore Drive. This public park features a splash pad, playground, shelters, sports field, and access to the Greenbelt.

Hotel Accommodations:

Eagle’s two hotels are the recently remodeled Hilton Garden Inn and newly constructed Homewood Suites. Impressively, the Hilton Garden Inn has rooms and suites with balconies overlooking the Boise River. It also features an indoor pool and hot tub. The Homewood Suites has an indoor pool and kitchenettes in each room to accommodate longer stays. Both hotels are surrounded by restaurants, shopping, a salon & spa, and office buildings.

Medical Facilities:

There are also two outpatient branches of the local hospitals in Eagle. Saint Alphonsus has an emergency room and St. Luke’s Medical Plaza has an urgent care.

Shopping & Restaurants:

Closer to Chinden Road you will find the Bridges at Lakemoor. This shopping plaza is home to several eateries including Crave. It is also home to the Eagle Luxe Reel movie theater with reclining seats. With still more room to grow, the Bridges at Lakemoor has personal wellness facilities, shops, and office buildings.
